Provence, France: Explore a Region Rich with History, Art and Beauty

Once of the best regions in France to explore is Provence. A region with Roman ruins, a 2000 year old aqueduct, medieval villages, and inspiration for great impressionist painters like Van Gogh. The warmth of the people in the region, the vibrant colors and great local wines provide the right formula for a great vacation.

Traveling off-season provides obvious benefits – less hassle, fewer crowds, and the ability to travel without reservations for those independent travelers. Beware of one thing if you travel toward the end of November – you may catch a brief period of time when everything appears to be closed. This is because they are transitioning between two tourist seasons and may be doing repairs or taking a vacation themselves.
